In tackling the makeover for Markova, we drew inspiration from the modern and urban woman. The one who knows what she wants in life, has a strong personality, but never loses sensuality. We took abstract concepts and turn them into design in the form of lines and materials, fusing the orthogonal with the organic, combining sensorially opposite textures. Firmness and security take straight forms in veneer and stone, while sensuality and freedom are organically represented in textured fabrics and coverings. An enveloping, fresh and luminous, but with personality and solidity. “It is not the right angle that attracts me, nor the straight line, hard and inflexible, created by man. What attracts me is the free and sensual curve – the curve that I find in the mountains of my country, in the sinuous course of its rivers, in the body of the beloved woman.”- Oscar Niemeyer
